Stop press!
I was already gathering up news from my portfolio from the last 12 months or so to share with you when the acquisition of StayOne’s Exclusive Homes by Mandarin Oriental was announced today.
You can read about that here, and the other ‘best of’ press pieces are…
“I was working at a London tech start-up and racking up 14 hours of screen time a day," Hector Hughes, co-founder of Unplugged, explains. “I hit burnout hard, so I headed on a silent retreat in the Himalayas, and after spending two weeks offline, I returned home entirely recharged. I decided to quit my job, and we started Unplugged.”
“While older founders have more to lose, there is some evidence their risk is more likely to pay off. ‘I just lost the fear’ Harnett says”
What3words in the Khmer Times here.
“Integrating what3words’ addressing system will be transformational for our delivery services”, Then Samvisoth, Director General of Cambodia Post.
“Joe Quilty, the teacher at Runnymede who is looking after the Century system, said using it for homework had saved hours of time that could be better used elsewhere. ‘It's massive for the likes of me, for example, most evenings I’ll go home, I get in about half five, six, I'll sit and have tea with the family, but then I have to sit down and spend an hour or two marking to get it ready for the next day,’ he said”.
Desmond & Dempsey in Harper’s Bazaar.
“Founded by an Englishman and an Australian, the USP fuses traditional and crisp British nightwear silhouettes with a laidback and playful Aussie feel”.

A terrific conversation between Chris Sheldrick and Chris Evans on the Virgin Radio Breakfast Show. Both of the Chris’s enthusiasm is infections — wonderful stuff.
“We had the idea in about five minutes… could’ve very easily not happened”.
