The 2010s was the decade of the Entrepreneur. The 2020s will be the decade of the Investor.
“Maintaining a network is something that I’ve always seen as of paramount importance to my life and career, but probably not for the reasons you’d expect…”

Network → Net worth
Next week I’ll be heading to UCL’s School of Management in Canary Wharf with a big box full of copies of ‘Find your 9others’.
Alastair and Serene have kindly invited me back to talk to the MBA students again. I’ll be sharing some of my favourite startup stories, the importance of networking and the many lessons learned from almost 13 years of hosting meals with 9others, as well as how 9others has helped my startup investing process and so much else.
Goodie bag
The added extra this year is that I can bring along a copy of my book, ‘Find your 9others’, (and some 9others merch) for each student. UCL get a cut-price speaking fee and the students get (I hope!) some lasting lessons from the book.
Same for you & yours?
If you think it’s important to network & build a community and want me to come in and speak to your classes, colleagues or clients about how to get going or how to network more effectively just hit reply and we can chat (or you can find me here).
(I do all this this as someone much more on the introverted side who used to think ‘networking’ was a load of rubbish. However, I worked hard on myself and I’ve learned how to go about building a trusted, helpful, reciprocal network and that now powers everything that I do).
